It is part of the RT network, a global multilingual television news network based in Moscow and funded by the Russian government. The website was launched in late 2014. RT Deutsch covers Germany and global events from an international and Russian perspective. RT Deutsch positions itself as an outsider with a mission to oppose what it portrays as a pro-war, pro-Western media orthodoxy in Germany. ==History== In 2013, RT started a subsidiary called Ruptly, a TV news agency which is based in Berlin. It has 25 offices around the world (including in Washington, Damascus, London, Madrid, Gaza and Cairo). On 6 November 2014, RT launched a German-language network. The first German-language broadcast of RT German was a political magazine ''Der fehlende Part'' (The missing part). The channel's reporters include Nicolaj Gericke and Lea Frings.
